...compatible? I know they have the same OD but different ID. Can I have a SCH 40 male threaded part and thread it into a SCH 80 female fitting, and vice-versa? Thanks, Mark

NPT threads are NPT threads. So yes, if you have a SCH 40 1" Male NPT it will screw into a SCH 80 1" Female NPT. Hope this helps
